Sara Barba Elevated to Principal

Washington, DC, (July 10, 2023) – Integer is pleased to announce that Sara Barba has been elevated to Principal.

Sara provides expert policy and advocacy advice to the firm’s philanthropy, tax and financial services clients. She has been with Integer since its beginning and before that worked with Integer’s founder, Sandra Swirski, at Urban Swirski & Associates.

Prior to her time in the private sector, Sara worked for three Members of Congress supporting DC and district staff. She holds degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Missouri, and she is currently a masters candidate at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

“I founded Integer a year ago with the goal of providing exceptional support for nonprofits and businesses seeking to navigate the complex world of federal policy,” said Sandra Swirski, founder of Integer. “Sara was beside me every step of the way and remains integral to the firm’s success and growth. ”

Over the past eight years Sara has played a central role in numerous advocacy efforts on behalf of the nonprofit sector and companies impacted by tax and financial services policy. From passing new tax incentives for charitable giving to defeating tax increases on tax-exempt organizations, her ability to bring together different stakeholders to form coalitions has led to positive outcomes for clients and entire sectors.

“Sara has an ability to understand the tax code and implications of policy changes without delay, and her expertise in philanthropy is sought after by those looking to get a better understanding of how public policy impacts civil society,” Swirski added.

“I am beyond excited about this new role,” said Sara Barba. “What I’ve gotten to do at Integer and at our previous firm is some of the most rewarding work I could have imagined, and the opportunity to help lead this team is a privilege.”
